Work
In the Office of the Chief Economist I work on the Bank’s research on growth and development, mostly building the datasets and charts behind it. The tools I’ve written for this are on the Projects page.
Education
I did my BSc and MSc in Economics at the London School of Economics and Political Science.
Interests
Within economics I’m most interested in twentieth-century economic history, why some countries grow and others don’t, international economics, migration, the Nordic model, and how communism shaped Eastern Europe’s later development.
Elsewhere
Outside work I shoot 35mm film, mostly on a Nikon F5, Nikon FA, Nikon FM2N and an Olympus Mju II. The photographs are in the film archive.
